Dear FOWA Member:
One of the visible ways that FOWA involves the public in its conservation mission and messages is by awarding scholarships each year to deserving young college students. The tradition behind FOWA scholarships is to encourage and support young men and women ". . . whose career goals are to communicate to the public a love and appreciation for the outdoor experience."
So, here's your chance to use your FOWA affiliation to encourage promising outdoor communicators to apply for a FOWA scholarship. If you know of a deserving student that fills the bill, download and print a PDF form that contains scholarship eligibility, selection and application criteria. Encourage them to apply for a scholarship. Then, get behind them by endorsing their application - when a student submits a scholarship application, it must be endorsed either by their faculty advisor or by an active FOWA member.
Take a look at the recent FOWA scholarship recipients featured on FOWA's website, and decide if you know of someone who's a good candidate.
Sincerely,
 Steve Kearl
